Crypto Sees Profit Taking And You Can Now Mine Bitcoin For Free At Starbucks
Last Updated on 2 August 2021 by CryptoTips.eu
After a week of hefty gains followed by a weekend of stagnation around the $41,000 mark, Bitcoin saw some profit taking as it entered the working week. At the time of writing it is exchanging hands for $39,600.
Other major altcoins were dealt similar cards, but can still present a positive end of July. It will be interesting to see whether August evolves on a similar trend before we get into September which is where the real price action in both crypto and stock markets will start.
Free electricity at Starbucks
The other day my employer offered a Starbucks gift voucher as a thank you for having returned to the office in person. With that I was once again reminded how much Americans love Starbucks (and at the same time how much better European coffee brands taste). This probably also explains why a post of a Los Angeles youngster showing you how to mine Bitcoin for free using Starbucks electricity has gone viral in the past week.
Idan Abada created his own Bitcoin mining rig which is powered by USBs. He sells them for $875 and this week he showed how his mini bitcoin mining rig works and let it mine using the free Starbucks electricity in the coffee shop.
The post has of course gone viral with several millions views on TikTok and many people vowing to soon do the same. Abada said:
It’s one of the easiest miners to set up and run, because all you need is a computer or a laptop. It’s powered by USB, and that’s pretty much it. Everyone can become a miner and be a part of the crypto world. I noticed it was really hard to buy equipment for mining bitcoin, so I created BitcoinMerch.com. At first, it was just me selling some cables and very basic equipment.
But now, he has created on Bitcoin Merch the NewPac, a mini Bitcoin rig of which the main component was featured in Abada’s viral TikTok video.
We have sold thousands, and when we get more, they run out quick.
