Gold sees turnaround, Bitcoin could soon follow

Last Updated on 12 August 2026 by CryptoTips.eu

While Bitcoin volatility has dropped to a low over the past few months, gold and silver appear to be breaking out of the 2026 corrective phase. Will crypto soon follow that trend?

Trading range

After their strong rally in recent years, gold and silver took a heavy hit this year, particularly during the first half. Since peaking earlier in the year, the price of gold has fallen by some 30%, while silver is worth less than half of its peak value.

In a short span of time, these well-known precious metals have thus lost much of their luster. The current corrections still fit within the positive technical picture that has been developing since 2022. For now, this represents a sharp pullback within a broader upward trend rather than a definitive trend reversal. The same applies to Bitcoin.

Gold breaks out of the corrective phase.

In recent weeks, the technical outlook for gold has begun to improve. During the recent correction, the gold price found support in the zone around the low seen in late 2025—a level that is now acting as technical support.

The rebound over the past week has further bolstered positive sentiment. If this recovery continues in the coming weeks, the record highs seen earlier this year could once again come into view.

Bitcoin

For over a month now, the price of Bitcoin has been moving within a relatively narrow range of $60,000 to $66,000. Volatility has dropped significantly during this prolonged consolidation phase as investors remain cautious.

Historically, such periods of exceptionally low volatility for Bitcoin rarely last very long. Consequently, the rally in gold could soon signal the start of a new bull run for Bitcoin as investors broaden their portfolios again.
