Stormgain is one of the latest cryptocurrency trading platforms and has recently had a very aggressive marketing strategy. The platform has only been active since 2019 and the headquarter is located in the Seychelles. The exchange is mainly focused on margin trading with leverage. If you do not know exactly what this means, we advise you not to use this exchange yet. In this Stormgain review we examine the platform and explain how it exactly works. Register an account
Registering an account is very easy. An email address, password and phone number are sufficient to create an account. Although KYC (Know Your Customer) is becoming more and more common lately, this is not (yet) necessary for Stormgain. You have to accept the terms and conditions and indicate that you do not live in the United State. That’s all.

What is Stormgain?
Stormgain is a cryptocurrency exchange and focuses on leverage trading. You can go short or long with a multiplier, this means that you can anticipate on a price decrease or increase. It is possible to trade dozens of currencies against USDT (the stablecoin with an equal value to the dollar). You can also just buy cryptocurrency and just hold it.
The platform is available using a browser, but they also have an iOS and Android app. This way you can trade anytime and anywhere when you are connected to the internet. Stormgain was developed by the same company that is behind Libertex. Libertex focuses not only on cryptocurrency, but also on stocks and commodities and is originally a CFD platform.

How can you deposit credit?
You can deposit funds at Stormgain in two different ways, using cryptocurrency or a credit card. Both methods require a minimum deposit of approximately $50.
If you deposit by credit card, you buy USDT. The deposit is processed via the XCOEX platform, where you also have to create an account. In our opinion, it is easier to send cryptocurrency to the platform.

What features does Stormgain offer?
Stormgain would like to differentiate from other exchanges in terms of functionality and cost. For example, they offer a higher leverage than BitMEX, ByBit and Deribit. And they are cheaper than most other exchanges (based on their own comparison). Below you can see the functionalities they offer.
Cryptocurrency trading
Stormgain’s cryptocurrency exchange looks good and works well. A minimum deposit of 50 USDT is required to trade. Trading is possible from a minimum of 10 USDT per trade.

- Cold wallet storage is used to store the coins.

How does Stormgain work?
Trading is easy for experienced cryptocurrency traders. We advise beginners not to use this exchange to start with, but to use a more easier exchange like Bitvavo. If you still want to trade at Stormgain, please use our guide below.
USDT credit
You need credit in your account to open trades. If you have transferred USDT, you’ll be able to start immediately. But if you deposited another currency, you have to convert it to USDT. You can convert your crypto selecting the Exchange tab. For converting you pay a fee of 0.1%.
Placing an order
To open an order you have to go back to the Trading tab and you have to decide which trading pair you want to trade. At the time of writing, you can choose between 23 trading pairs. If you think Bitcoin is going to rise against the dollar then you can choose the trading pair Bitcoin/Tether.
The minimum deposit is 10 dollars and there is no maximum. Below your order you see your leverage and here you can also choose how many times your bet will be multiplied. For Bitcoin/Tether you can choose up to a maximum of 200x. Read this article if you want to know more about leverages. If you choose 200x then you are actually trading with $2000 in stead of $10. Keep in mind that a high leverage is very risky.
Under Limit profit and loss you can indicate the percentage of profit or loss at which you automatically close your position. This way you don’t have to sit behind your computer all the time. If you automatically increase your position, you will have to invest extra money to keep your position open.
Now means that the order will be executed immediately (market order) and with At the price the order will be executed at a price selected by you.
Stormgain fees
According to Stormgain, they offer the lowest commissions on the market. The exchange costs depend very much on which trading pair you are trading with. BCHBTC costs 0.25% of fee, which is the same as Bitvavo. And BTCUSDT costs 0.08%, this is very competitive. See the table below for the exchange costs.

When you open a position, you see the actual commission Stormgain charges. The above commissions are an average.
The fees are a lot higher when you pay with a credit card. For a deposit they charge 5% fee starting at 10 USD. This is very high and forces the client to deposit a minimum of 200 USD. If you deposit 100 USD, you still have to pay a 10 USD fee.
We have to stay honest in this Stormgain review and we think that the withdrawing of cryptocurrency is also very expensive. There is a 0.1% fee for each withdrawal. These are costs you should keep in mind when trading on this exchange.
Depositing cryptocurrency is free of charge, but as mentioned above, there is a minimum.

Is Stormgain safe?
Stormgain is part of Libertex, which offers trading platforms for 20 years. A large part of the people who work for the company are visible on the website. For example the CEO of the company: Alex Althausen.
Although Stormgain is safe, we can guarantee that many negative reviews will appear on the internet. The instruments they offer are very risky and if you start trading with a 200x multiplier it is almost the same as gambling (our opinion). This means that you can make a quick profit, but also a quick loss. Especially if you don’t understand a thing about the platform and therefore lose your deposit, chances are, you will have a negative experience. That’s why these reviews regularly appear on the internet.

If you would like to trade with a leverage, Stormgain is a great exchange. As with BitMEX, there is little personal data required and the platform looks good. A leverage of 200x is nice, but too high to trade responsibly. Of course, you are not obliged to use 200x. There are enough cryptocurrencies and trading pairs offered to trade at this platform. You also get free cryptocurrency signals and see the trading sentiment of other users.

The costs of trading on the platform are indeed low, but the depositing and withdrawing are very expensive.
The commission for depositing using credit card of 5% is too high and the cost of 0.1% to withdraw is also too high in our opinion. Also, using USDT is not very handy for all users.

I just started having good earnings really easily and simple, I highly recommend to everyone.
Very bad! They want to be a fraudulent website to gain people’s datas or they have very very bad internal team and auditors when they cancel people’s registrations WITHOUT any explanation and an apology. They can’t solve the problems via support. No support… They cancel the registrations only after a few uses!

Miner is working deposit is working, till you try withdraw. After that contact with support not possible they don’t answer 48h without answer money frozen in stormgain.
