The history of Ocean Protocol’s price

Ocean Protocol was founded by Bruce Pon, Christina Pon, Don Gossen, Trent McConaghy, Dimitri De Jonghe, John Enevodsen, Chirdeep Singh, and Daryl Arnold in 2017. The project is a decentralized data exchange protocol that is designed to unlock data for Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company is headquartered in Singapore. It was founded by the vision to create decentralized data marketplaces and apps.

In March 2018, the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) was held by Ocean Protocol. In this offering, the company raised 30 million US dollars by selling only 10% of its total supply of OCEAN tokens. The noteworthy participants were Julian Sarokin, Zeroth, Outlier Ventures, Fabric Ventures, and Synapse Capital. 1 OCEAN was sold for 0,12 USD during the ICO.

The OCEAN token maximum supply is capped at 1.41 billion tokens and the current circulating total supply is over 359 million coins. In August 2020, when Binance officially listed the OCEAN token on its platform, the Ocean Protocol’s price increased more than 70%. Before the news, the coin was being trading at $0.40 and after the news, the OCEAN price was $0.69 per token.

In July 2020, the well-known cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced that it is considering OCEAN with 18 other new tokens to add to its portfolio, including Hedera Hashgraph.
