14.9 million Chainlink sent to Binance: the biggest move of the year
Last Updated on 4 April 2026 by CryptoTips.eu
While most market participants keep things quiet over the weekend, Chainlink sees a striking move. As many as 14.9 million LINK flow to exchange Binance, worth around $126 million. The LINK price sits at $8.66 today, a slight drop of 0.70% in 24 hours, though the token still shows a gain of 1.49% over the past seven days.
Largest LINK movement of the year hits during a quiet weekend
The transfer stands out because weekends typically see low trading volumes and limited liquidity. Yet some major players choose exactly these moments to move large sums. Of the 14.9 million LINK, 14.7 million head directly to Binance, making this by far the largest single movement in this cryptocurrency this year.
What makes this even more notable is that the vast majority of the transfers appear to come from a single address that carries no Binance label. That rules out an internal movement within the platform as a likely explanation. The origin of the funds remains unclear for now.
Selling pressure or strategic repositioning?
Several scenarios are possible. It could involve the project team moving funds for custody purposes or as part of an agreement with Binance. Equally, a large wallet holder may be choosing to tap into the platform’s deep liquidity to sell or restructure a major position. No definitive conclusion is possible, but large exchange inflows historically warrant extra caution. Movements like these can translate into significant selling pressure on the LINK price in the short term.
