Getting Rickrolled is often referred to as the best meme of all time. It means that you click a link on the internet which is supposed to take you to a very promising page, and then you hear the 1980s classic song Never gonna give you up by Rick Astley.

By now, there are millions of Rickrolling links on the internet and pretty much everyone has at least once in their life been Rickrolled.

The British singer appeared on the Graham Norton show back in 2018 and admitted that he didn’t know about Rickrolling when it got big, which is around 2008-2009. His own daughter had to explain it to him and even show him the links which took unsuspecting people to her father’s song.

By now, that 1980s hit has a good 900 million hits on YouTube.

Stock to Flow

Back to the present, we see that British crypto commentator Peter McCormack hosted a podcast on the subject of Bitcoin’s 2021 run this Monday.

He invited Willy Woo, a longtime Bitcoin bull and crypto believer. By now, Woo has become so familiarized with the cryptosphere that he recently discovered people are mimicking him on YouTube to try and scam others out of crypto.

This is because, just like the anonymous Dutch trader PlanB, Woo (the founder of the Bitcoin Forecast) is a firm believer of the stock to flow model which is based on the simple fact that Bitcoin will rise in value because of its scarcity in the market.

Asked what was the right strategy for Bitcoin in 2021, Woo stated during the 1 hour podcast that:

You’d be crazy to sell right now. There’s more buying the dip than ever seen before, a new record for 2021 and we know the person that’s buying the dip is Rick Astley and he’s not going to let us down.

With that he of course refers to the chorus that all Bitcoin HODLers should now be singing:

Never gonna give you up, Never gonna let you down, Never gonna run around and desert you.

Still a great song.
