Washington Post expects Trump to sign crypto ‘executive order’ on day 1
Last Updated on 15 January 2025 by CryptoTips.eu
A long and detailed article in the usually well-informed Washington Post confirmed what many in the Trump administration have long whispered. On day one of his new presidency, January 20th, Donald Trump will immediately sign several executive orders that will take immediate action. Crypto will also be featured on day one according to the researchers.
Timcast
On December 17, 2024, the price of Bitcoin, and many altcoins, rose to a record level after Strike CEO Jack Mallers announced the plans on Timcast, the show of American commentator and journalist Tim Pool (who also appears with Joe Rogan on his podcast). According to Mallers, Donald Trump would sign an ‘executive order’ to establish a ‘strategic Bitcoin reserve’ in the United States from day one. Crypto fans were very excited.

Since then, no major media outlet has confirmed those plans, and since the Trump clan does not want other countries to know what they are planning in detail, no one has confirmed it since.
Sacks and Andreessen
That changed this week with a lengthy investigative article in the Washington Post explaining how Silicon Valley celebrities like David Sacks and Marc Andreessen plan to install crypto legislation from day one of Trump’s new presidency.
This would allow crypto companies to once again turn to US banks for loans and expansion plans. That would represent a 180° turn from the way the crypto industry was handled under the Biden administration and be fantastic news for companies like Coinbase, MicroStrategy, Riot Platforms, Marathon Digital and many others.
Although the Post does not mention the creation of a so-called ‘strategic Bitcoin reserve’, the news is enough to reignite positivity for the cryptosphere.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading for $97,100.
