For all the talk about how the cryptosphere has matured this year, there is of course still that playful part in most of us where having great fun and showing humor is more important than being serious. Latest example of that was shown during the launch of Ethereum 2.0’s first block. Vitalik Buterin, the Ethereum CEO, released a tweet showing the difference between “normal people” and the crypto community.

He stated:

Normal people: we should really put something profound in the first block of the ethereum PoS chain, something about giant leaps for mankind or whatever. Ethereum community: Mr F. Was Here.

Fahrenheit

Vitalik’s comment was immediately picked up by his 1 million followers who started investigating as to what this could actually refer to. Turns out that Mr F stands for Fahrenheit, which is a song by Queen, and the man who made the comment is actually an Ethereum investor, so all good we think.

Then again, Vitalik doesn’t have much to complain about this year. The price chart of Ethereum shows that his cryptocurrency has known a major revival in 2020, thanks both to the interest in Bitcoin and crypto as a whole over the past few months, and the need for all DeFi projects to run on his blockchain. We think Vitalik is wishing for 2021 to become even better.

Peter Schiff

One of the funnier responses to Vitalik’s launch of Ethereum 2.0 cam from a twitter account called CryptoVanessa (we guess that’s not her real name) mimicking the mocking meme seen about Peter Schiff just yesterday.

During that one which mocked the Bitcoin perma bear Schiff it showed him aging as the price of Bitcoin went up, during Vanessa’s meme it shows how Vitalik is becoming ever better looking as the price of Ethereum shoots up.
