Trump’s newest memecoin rises 450% in two days only

At first there was disbelief among crypto fans after Donald Trump’s social media accounts, both on X (formerly Twitter) and TruthSocial announced on Friday night that the new American President was launching his own memecoin, called ‘Trump’.

After its authenticity was confirmed, the new memecoin skyrocketed and reached a market value of $25 billion after just one day of trading.

The announcement of the new ‘Trump memecoin’ was first distributed via Truth Social, Trump’s own social media platform. A little later the same message also appeared on X.

At first there was still a lot of doubt among investors and crypto fans and fans wondered whether Trump’s X channel had not been hacked. Since the message was still there hours later and several crypto researchers confirmed that the new project had a similar format to a previous Trump family crypto project called World Liberty Financial, the doubts eventually subsided and more and more money was invested.

The coin already reached a value of $40 last night. At the time of writing, Trump is trading at $66 and is ranked 17th in CoinMarketCap’s top 100. The coin has already risen 450% since its inception.

The doubt among crypto fans is mainly due to the many scams surrounding Trump memecoins in the past. In the summer of last year, a coin called DJT (Donald J Trump) was launched and the price completely collapsed a few weeks later. Another memecoin called Restore The Republic was also briefly attributed to Trump, but when his son Eric claimed that the family had nothing to do with the project, the price of that memecoin also fell by 90% in just a few hours.
