Glauber Contessoto became a shining example of crypto richness this year when he admitted to having invested his life savings in the memecoin Dogecoin. When it hit a high of 75 cents, Glauber sat on more than $2.5 million worth of Doge. By now, he has some $800,000 left. Not bad for the small investment he initially made.

But when he recently admitted to his aunt, who had lent him $1,500 to start his Dogecoin haul, that her part was at a certain point worth more than $20,000, she tried to get him to sell it all. Not working though. Glauber is HODLing (holding on for dear life).

We told you all about Glauber Contessoto, a 34-year-old living in Los Angeles, working as a musical employee from time to time, back in May of this year.

By now, he has become the most famous Dogecoin bagholder and calls himself the SlumDOGE Millionaire, referring to the Bollywood movie with the (almost) same name.

Back in February of this year, he had decided to invest his life savings in a crypto coin, against the advice of friends and family, who all said he was nuts and that he would lose everything. He even got $1,500 from his aunt, who he’ll be spending time with for Christmas. She recently learned on a MarketPlace podcast how Glauber had turned her $1,500 into almost $20,000, and how now, as Doge dropped back down to around 17 cents, it was only worth $7,000 anymore.

So the family decided that for this Christmas still, they would ‘buy five below gifts’, meaning they come from the below five dollar store. For next year, they’re hoping to finally be able to convince Glauber to cash out though.

At this point, he still has some $800,000 worth in Doge and the family knows that they’ll get a very nice return on their investment.
