Satoshi Whales awaken, Ethereum rallies and women’s basketball is troubled by memecoin promotors throwing sex toys

Last Updated on 10 August 2025 by CryptoTips.eu

Bitcoin’s dominance appears to be waning now that Ethereum is experiencing a strong rally. Meanwhile, more and more Satoshi-era whales are waking up and, after 10 years of laying dormant, are moving their Bitcoins from wallets to trading platforms (probably to sell them).

Also this week, there was a scandal at the US women’s basketball tournament. Promoters of the meme coin Green Dildo Coin threw sex toys onto the court, causing four matches to be halted. The coin itself rose 300% in a single day.

As you can see, there are both positive and negative signs in the market.

Satoshi Whales and Ethereum

For weeks, analysts have been warning of a potential pullback for Bitcoin, for two reasons. First, August (like September) is a historically bad month for Bitcoin, and second, several Satoshi Whales (large Bitcoin holders who waited ten years or more to sell) are currently choosing to cash out. This could mean that institutional investors will soon follow suit.

The second-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, surged this week and is now trading well above $4,000 again.

WNBA

The American women’s basketball league, better known as the WNBA, has already been halted four times this week.

This happened because crypto promoters threw sex toys onto the field. The incidents are linked to a memecoin called Green Dildo Coin. The incident made headlines in almost every major American newspaper, and the memecoin’s price because of all these mentions skyrocketed as a result.

Two 18-year-olds have since been arrested for throwing sex toys on a basketball court.
