Peter Brandt convinced that Bitcoin’s recovery is a “dead cat bounce”

Peter Brandt, the classic chart expert who has been predicting crypto prices for decades, is certain we’re currently seeing a “dead cat bounce” in the chart of Bitcoin’s price. He believes that after this brief uptick, we’re headed for a new low. To hedge against losses, he currently recommends buying gold.

A “dead cat bounce” means that an asset (a stock, a digital or fiat currency) experiences a short, sharp rally after a long and steep decline has taken place.

Analysis

It’s linked to the fact that when a cat falls from a building, there’s always a brief surge of energy after it hits the ground. That’s just the body’s muscles reacting, while the animal’s mind is essentially dead.

Peter’s point is that Bitcoin’s recent rally (the rise from $82,000 to $87,000) won’t go much further, and that investors shouldn’t expect the movement they’re currently seeing to continue.

Fundamentally, according to him, nothing has changed, and we’re still looking at the end of the 2023-2025 Bitcoin bull run. Whether he’s right will become clear in the coming weeks and months, but Peter’s analyses of Bitcoin have been very accurate in recent months, so proceed with caution.
