More and more people take the ‘orange pill’ and invest in Bitcoin

After the choice between a red and a blue pill (from the Matrix movies), there is now also the orange pill, which represents the belief that Bitcoin is the ultimate currency that offers you protection.

In English, the expression ‘to orange pill someone’ means to convince someone of the usefulness of Bitcoin. Thanks to the banking crisis, more and more people are becoming long-term investors and thus the term is ‘trending’.

Meanwhile, CNBC and Goldman Sachs admit that Bitcoin has turned out to be just about the best investment of 2023 (so far).

Insurance policy

In an interview with CNBC, Caitlin Long, the well-known Bitcoiner who has in the meantime founded her own crypto bank (Custodia Bank), confirmed the ‘orange pill’ trend.

A lot of folks are waking up to the instability in the traditional financial system and being orange-pilled so to speak, and looking at Bitcoin for the first time, she said. It’s a scarce asset, just like other types of scarce assets that are insurance policies against financial system instability.

Best investment

And while Jamie Dimon, the well-known CEO of investment bank JP Morgan recently described Bitcoin as a “pet rock,” his competitors at Goldman Sachs had to admit in a recent data review that Bitcoin has proved to be the best investment of 2023 so far, with a profit of about 50% since the beginning of the year.

Compared to Bitcoin, the S&P 500 and gold only rose 4% over the same period.
