Memecoin rally during Bitcoin bear market? Pippin is on a roll
Last Updated on 11 February 2026 by CryptoTips.eu
Just when it seems that every cryptocoin is dropping, there are still memecoins making incredible moves. At the time of writing, Pippin and Pengu are particularly strong, but historically, during every bear market, memecoins have performed quite well (although they are very volatile and can drop just as fast).
$PIPPIN is on the rise this week with a price increase of over 100%! This huge 7-day rise is due to a massive spike in spot buying, described as a "7.2x volume anomaly" by some users. This has brought in loads of interested investors to @pippinlovesyou!

The high volatility and large social media following of these usually small (and very cheap) cryptocurrencies sometimes leads to some very strange jumps, and this is certainly the case in February 2026. While most major altcoins are showing weekly losses, Pippin has risen by over 100% in the last seven days. Whether it’s wise to invest in these small memecoins remains to be seen, but they are certainly volatile and can provide you with healthy profits in bear market times (if you are willing to take the risk).
Dogecoin
The most famous memecoin rally occurred in 2021. Elon Musk declared in January that he owned Dogecoin and would discuss it during an upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live in May of that year. Dogecoin rose from 5 cents to 75 cents and dominated the crypto news. The ultimate memecoin is still among the top ten largest cryptocurrencies, although its price is now considerably lower.
In the years that followed, we saw many other well-known memecoins, all of which proved incredibly volatile. Bonk was particularly popular in Tokyo and Seoul, while Pepe rose thanks to the rise of the MAGA movement in the United States.
Trump coin
The largest memecoin rally occurred in January 2025, the weekend before Trump was to be sworn in for a second term as US President. Trump launched his own “Trump Coin” and raised hundreds of millions of dollars with it, before it imploded when his wife launched her own ‘Melania’.
