Is the Bitcoin bullrun of 2024-2025 coming to an end?

Last Updated on 8 September 2025 by CryptoTips.eu

It’s “red September,” and the doomsday scenarios are coming in fast. Yesterday, I read a article claiming that Whales are preparing with buy orders around $82,000 and $94,000 because a freakout crash can’t be ruled out in these macroeconomic conditions. Let’s take a closer look and see if that’s possible. In other words, is the Bitcoin bull run of 2024-2025 coming to an end, and if so, where can we expect support?

Bitcoin bullrun

In the past decade, Bitcoin ran through several well-known bull runs. The 2017-2018 one was primarily experienced in Asia, while the 2020-2021 bull run was a global one. The 2024-2025 bull run had a very slow buildup but is comparable to the other two. Historically, Bitcoin bull markets peak around 1,060 to 1,100 days after significant lows (the demise of FTX in November 2022 was the low point of the current run), which would suggest the end of this cycle should occur sometime between late October and mid-November 2025, at least if history holds true.

The current Bitcoin bull run had two major catalysts. First, the SEC’s approval of BlackRock’s permission to offer a Bitcoin ETF in January 2024. This propelled the price neatly above the previous record high of $70,000 set in March of that year. Secondly, Donald Trump’s victory for a second term as US president caused trading to surpass the mythical price point of $100,000 for the first time. Bitcoin traded at a record price of around $124,000 about two weeks ago, and many analysts believe this marked the peak.

Continuation

If history were indeed to repeat itself, we would normally expect a drop to the previous bull run’s record high, which would then act as support. This means a drop to $70,000 or $80,000 is a possibility from now on.

However, it’s impossible to predict how institutional investors will react to such a drop (if it happens). Bitcoin Hodlers know that drops of this magnitude are possible, but Wall Street firms are likely to react differently. The last few months of 2025 could become very interesting.
