Donald Trump hosts diner for biggest Hodlers of his own memecoin

Earlier this year, on the weekend before his official inauguration, President Donald Trump launched his own memecoin which was of course called $TRUMP. It soared to unprecedented heights during that first weekend, with early buyers selling on Sunday when a rival $MELANIA memecoin was also launched.

Trump has learned how to capitalize on his fans in what will (probably) be his last presidency. That’s why he hosted a gala evening at a golf club near Washington DC this weekend for the biggest Hodlers of his own $TRUMP’ memecoin. The liberal American press as well as crypto purists are not amused.

Trump is literally selling access to government to the highest bidders.
When Donald Trump won the presidential election last year, the biggest winners in the crypto market were not Bitcoin, or Ether in the weeks that followed, but memecoins such as Doge, Pepe and Bonk. The clan around Trump saw this and therefore decided to launch their own memecoin, given the popularity of the president. Calculations showed that Donald Trump and his family made around 350 million dollars with that memecoin in the month of January alone.
Purists
Ever since then, the value of the $TRUMP memecoin has been falling rapidly, but when the US president announced a dinner with the largest owners of his own digital currency last week, the popularity of that digital currency rose again.

Crypto purists, however, believe that Trump is simply riding the wave of Bitcoin’s popularity at the moment and is therefore earning some more money. I have my doubts whether the American president cares about their opinion at all of course.
