I personally felt that Australian businessman Craig Wright didn’t stand a chance when he sent several websites cease-and-desist orders earlier this year, claiming that by showing the Bitcoin White Paper on their websites they breached his copyright.

Mr Wright has been busily suing everyone around telling them that since he is the actual Satoshi Nakamoto, the Bitcoin White Paper (which Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey once described as poetry) cannot be published without his consent.

Both Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org received allegations of copyright infringement of the Bitcoin white paper by lawyers representing the man.

The London High Court however seems to believe Mr Wright has a case and is ready to hear his case. Next to the SEC versus XRP, looks like crypto has another major court case on its hands in 2021.

Inventor of Bitcoin

Speaking to the Guardian newspaper, Mr Simon Cohen, a lawyer for Mr Wright, stated that:

The case will turn on whether the court is satisfied that Dr Wright did indeed author – and owns the copyright in – the white paper and, therefore, that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.

The representatives of the website Bitcoin.org, find it hideous that Mr Wright has led it come to this. Asked for their opinion on the matter, they stated that:

We’ve been threatened to take down the bitcoin white paper by someone who obviously isn’t the inventor of bitcoin. Seems like he’s trying to abuse the UK courts to make them try to censor the white paper and harass small websites like us providing education content with his behaviour.

Quite the predicament we have here of course. If Mr Wright indeed turns out the be Satoshi Nakamoto after all, he immediately becomes one of the richest people in the world and the owner of the first million Bitcoins mined.
