Countdown to Nashville just as Mt Gox tests transfers

The largest digital currency had surged to its highest level in a month following US President Joe Biden’s decision to make way in the next presidential election, but consolidated on Monday after a poll showed Harris and Trump are almost tied.

Crypto fans are counting down to the annual Bitcoin conference in Nashville, just about the largest crypto conference in the United States.

Former President Donald Trump is the keynote speaker and many hope that he present some future policy shift about Bitcoin in his speech.

Edward Snowden and Michael Saylor are also expected to speak.

Republican candidate Donald Trump is known as a strong supporter of cryptocurrencies, probably because he realizes now more than ever that he will need to win over the vote of the young people with a Democratic candidate who will (normally) be younger than himself.

Mt Gox transfers

Mt Gox, once the largest crypto platform in the world, is getting ready to move around $6 billion worth of Bitcoins. To ensure that all this money gets to the right people, the legal teams that arrange refunds to former Mt Gox customers always do a few test transfers before the major amounts are deposited.

The Bitstamp platform confirmed that they received a small amount from Mt Gox this weekend, meaning a few billions are probably underway.

Let’s wait and see how the market reacts if those $6 billion in Bitcoins are converted into fiat.
