We over here at CryptoTips might be fans of crypto and all technologies that are being developed alongside it, when something is amiss; it is up to us to speak up about it.

A few weeks ago, when another Darkweb site was closed by authorities and crypto found itself in the negative news cycle because payments on those sites is done in crypto, we launched a plea for those that have influence in the cryptoshere to come together and find a way to repair all the ails that plague this industry.

Discord pump

We once again witness something that is clearly off. Although we have been bullish on the small supply chain coin VeChain in the past few weeks, notably warning all our readers on 29 December 2020 that a technical setup was forming which could result in an upward price trend.

There are worrying sings on the horizon of the Twitterverse for both VeChain and Hedera Hashgraph. They are both caught up in a crypto selloff today, as are 90% of all coins, but have been mooning in the past few weeks.

In the past few days, their recent trend was accompanied by an onslaught of tweets urging everyone that this Saturday a discord group would be pumping the coins.

Yes, a similar botfest (aka luring people to possibly malicious websites) which has been forming under whatever Tweet Elon Musk sends out is now playing out whenever one searches for news on VeChain or Hedera Hashgraph.

Several twitter accounts with only a handful of followers are announcing to those looking for news that:

$hbar and $vet both mooning because a large Discord pump group just announced they will push the price up this Saturday!

If you were to check these accounts further, you will note that almost all of them feature handouts and giveaways of a questionable nature. They are professional retweeters apparently all falling for the same trap.

Included with the message that both VeChain and Hedera Hashgraph will see price movement this Saturday is a link urging people to sign into discord. As both VeChain and HBAR have indeed been mooning these past few weeks, followers could be tempted to log in.

We would certainly advise against this and hope that Twitter cleans up these accounts and the ones calling for pump and dump schemes. As always, do your own research and be advised that scams, pumps and dumps will always follow any coin that is mooning.

Furthermore, urging people that a coin will moon shortly and then paying $30 for retweets is not really helping the crypto market to look legit in the long run.
