Pump and dump schemes are back in a big way as of late. Thanks to CryptoTips, loyal readers were warned of two of these in the month of January alone. First we told you that a Discord group had taken up the plan to pump (and subsequently dump) VeChain and HBAR, both coins that had been on a roll.

Later on we told you that XRP’s parabolic rise was also a probable pump scheme setup by a social media gathering. XRP has since not gone under the $0,30 – $0,35 range, which we indicated could well serve as support.

Do note that we like all these coins, but simply feel that pump and dump schemes should be avoided as they give the cryptosphere a bad reputation.

Cardano and QAnon?

The latest case we want to discuss involves Cardano, another one of our favorite projects. We are great fans of Charles Hoskinson and thoroughly enjoy his videos on all things ranging from crypto to politics to vaccine plans for the US.

Charles is always good mannered in all his communication and we wish him all the best.

However, a journalist from Vice recently discovered that a known QAnon conspiracy theorist has been trying to pump the price of Cardano, seeing his regular stream of income falter, he urged his supporters (the hardcore Trump loyalists) to buy Cardano and will probably dump his bag as soon as the coin reaches $0,80.

Gab platform

Neon Revolt, a major online personality in the world of the right-wing conspiracy theory QAnon, who has a major online following. He was ousted as a screenwriter living in New Jersey recently.

As Trump popped up on social media again last week (he posted a letter on the Gab platform), the timing of Neon Revolt’s call to pump Cardano seems timely enough.

David Gilbert is a journalist for Vice News who is currently covering the 2020 election disinformation and has therefore highlighted the scam.

Given the fact that ADA is the least expensive coin (from a nominal standpoint) in the top 5, it is at this point most obviously prone to scams. Hoskinson himself has already asked to delete several accounts which are scamming the cryptosphere.

Surpassing XRP

Cardano itself is doing very well in fact. The coin reached $0,70 yesterday and surpassed XRP in CoinMarketCap’s ranking.

Hoskinson has already set his sights for an even bigger target and wrote the following accompanying a Viking war song:

Ada is listening to this music while marching towards Ether.
