Hodlers of Dogecoin know that celebrity backing is an important part of the belief of the masses that their favorite memecoin will one day reach the $1 value.

It was of course Tesla boss Elon Musk who as the ultimate memelord sent out so many supportive messages of Dogecoin in the past year. As the shiba inu coin created by software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer was climbing towards the 44 cents level in the past few weeks (and then dropped back down to 18 cents again), fans came up with another plan.

As Elon is only the second riches man on the planet, how about they ask the richest one of them all to also back Dogecoin, and in this manner reach their dreamed value of $1.

According to analysts, should Amazon boss Jeff Bezos indeed authorize payment with Dogecoin on his website, the value will skyrocket immediately.

Momentum of the Dogecoin community

For this reason, fans of Doge have now set up a petition on Change.org to get Amazon to accept Doge as actual payment for goods.

Those who started the petition explain that:

It is time for Amazon.com to be one of the first major companies to see the power of Dogecoin and with the huge momentum the Dogecoin community is generating now is the time for Amazon to accept Dogecoin as a payment method!

Although you may think that this will never happen, some 191,000 people disagree with you and have signed the document already.
